Variety, like the name implies, is like a variety show. It is an inter-generational cultural experience that takes place five times a year. Every edition features a new line-up each time! Free admission and activities! This Variety will be held at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo which will include a snow machine, real snow ball maker, decorations, reindeer, and a bouncy house!

 

2 - 3 pm: Spoken Word Poetry
Monique Tate and Terrence DeGrate (aka Hoot) will be performing some of their original spoken word poems!

 

($) Noon – 5 pm:The Cookout Food Truck
The Cookout Food Truck The Cookout will be slingin' burgers all afternoon! Make sure to stop by for lunch or just an afternoon snack! Follow their page on Facebook for their schedule!

 

1 – 4 pm: Raku Pottery Firing with Alyssa
Local Artist Alyssa Guidry Posey will be outside doing a few LIVE demonstrations of raku firing pottery!

 

1 – 4 pm: Children’s Drop-In Activity
Bring your children to come make a watercolor salt painting with us!!! The outcome is a showstopper!

 

1 – 4 pm: Screen-printing Art Activity
We will have pre-prepped screens ready for you to print your very own handmade greeting cards!!! Bring your own cotton tee if you want to screen-print it also!!!

 

1 – 4 pm: Victoria Smith Art Activity
Project TBD - She is one of our featured artists right now at the Masur! Be sure to come see her exhibition in the lower gallery!!!

 

($) 1 – 4 pm: Kelvin Spears Art Vendor
Buy local art and prints from Kelvin, a talented artist from Ruston, LA! Art is always a good gift idea!!

 

1 – 4 pm: Children's Coalition Center
The NELA Children's Coalition will be here with a reading nook and baby play area!!!
