City of Monroe Upcoming Office Closures and Trash and Transit Schedule

(Monroe, LA) Mayor Friday Ellis announces City of Monroe facilities will be closed Monday, July 4, 2022, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. We will reopen Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

The Monroe Transit System will be closed Monday, July 4, 2022, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Regular services will resume Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

The trash schedule will be as follows:

Garbage normally collected on Monday, July 4, 2022, will be collected Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

***We are asking residents to put their trash out the night before to ensure it’s not missed during pick-up. Our crews are starting an hour earlier to beat the summer-time heat.***
