ABOUT THE S.A.V.E. Initiative

S.A.V.E. stands for Community Solutions and Voices Engaged to help our Youth. In response to a spike in youth related crime in the spring/summer of 2017, Mayor Mayo called a series of eight Think Tank! session community meetings at the Monroe Public Safety Center. Citizens from all walks of life attended and offered over 100 different constructive ideas to help create, support, and further enhance various programs, partnerships and initiatives to help SAVE OUR YOUTH from the streets. A crime consultant, Curtis Spears, was also hired to develop a template for consideration for future programming aimed at reaching this goal.

The City of Monroe S.A.V.E. Initiative has six components
