Road Closures for Krewe de Riviere Mardi Gras Parade
(Monroe, LA) The Krewe de Riviere Mardi Gras Parade is set to roll at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The parade begins at West Monroe High School located at 201 Riggs Street, West Monroe, LA. As the parade travels through West Monroe, it will come across the Louisville Bridge into Monroe and proceed to North 5th Street and head south toward downtown. Once the parade reaches Pine Street it will head west to Walnut Street and then travel south to its conclusion at the Downtown River Market. A copy of the route is attached. The Monroe Police Department asks the citizens to please have the parade route free of parked vehicles or trailers on roadsides no later than 3:00 p.m. the day of the parade. Vehicles that are parked improperly will be towed. The parade route will be shut down to all traffic at approximately 4:30 p.m.
As a reminder, please adhere to the following:
-DO NOT approach floats for any reason.
-DO NOT block the streets.
-Pay close attention to your children as well as others in your immediate area. Place a contact number of a parent/guardian in your child’s pocket.
-If you see something, say something. Several police personnel will be stationed throughout the parade route. Call 318-329-2600 for assistance.
The Monroe Police Department asks for all citizens to adhere to these guidelines in efforts to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.
