B.J. Washington Fitness Center Temporarily Closed for Renovations
Mayor Jamie Mayo and the Monroe City Council join Community Affairs Director Robert C. Johnson and Parks & Recreation division head Bruce Watson to announce the B.J. Washington Fitness Center, located at 1300 Richwood Road, is now temporarily closed for renovations until Monday, April 29, 2019. The renovations were approved by the Mayor and City Council at a recent Monroe City Council meeting.
Community Affairs Director Robert C. Johnson says, “The renovations will include repainting the entire facility, remodeling the kitchen, putting in new floors, and placing rubber flooring in
the workout areas. Those who frequent the B.J. Washington center will be very pleased with the finished results. We thank the public, in advance, as you pardon our progress.”
