Ouachita Green Household Hazardous Waste Day
March 16 at Ike Hamilton Expo Center
Mayor Jamie Mayo and the Monroe City Council are pleased to join Ouachita Green in making the following announcement:
The 2019 Great American Cleanup kicks off with Household Hazardous Waste Day, scheduled for Saturday, March 16th. Household Hazardous Waste Day will take place from 9 am until 1 pm at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, located at 501 Mane Street, in West Monroe.
Residents of Monroe, West Monroe, Ouachita Parish and the surrounding areas will have the opportunity to dispose of hazardous materials that should not go into the waste stream without proper treatment.
These include the following items: Paints, pesticides, household cleaners, tires, refrigerators, and electronic items such as computers and televisions. Plus, there will bins in place to receive recyclable items such as paper, plastics and scrap iron.
There will also be paper shredding services by ShredIT. This service will be offered to residents only, with a household limited to 3 boxes of documents to be shredded. Thank you to Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union for sponsoring this service!
Stations for each category will be located on the parking lot of the Ike Hamilton Expo Center which is located at 501 Mane Street in West Monroe.
