Monroe Fire Department Announces the Closing of the Breard Street Fire Station in preparation for Construction of New Fire Station in its place

Mayor Jamie Mayo, the Monroe City Council, and Fire Chief Terry Williams announce at 5pm Sunday, October 13, 2019, Fire Station #5, located at Breard and Betin Street, was closed for demolition. The closure is expected to last for 8 to 12 months, while a new fire station is built in its place. A ground-breaking ceremony will be scheduled in the coming few days. 

Monroe Fire Chief Terry Williams says, “Trucks and personnel used to cover Station #5’s territory has been strategically relocated to other fire stations in order to provide the best coverage for our citizens. Our goal is to provide the best service possible to our citizens not only during construction, but for many years to come.”
