Mayor Jamie Mayo Jamie Mayo announces the following community meeting: 

The threat of this past weekend’s severe weather event, coupled with this week’s rain, prompted the need to update residents in south Monroe about some very important projects that will help make major flood control and drainage improvements in various neighborhoods 

Meeting Time/Date: 5:30 pm until 7 pm Thursday, January 16 

Location: Monroe Public Safety Center, 1810 Dr. MLK Jr. Drive (Fire Dept. side) 

Topic: South Monroe Flood Control & Drainage Project Updates 

Targeted Neighborhoods in District 3, 4, and 5 including: Booker T. Washington, East and West Parkview, Southside Numbered Streets, and Georgia Street area. 

Major projects to discuss will include: Young’s Bayou Retention Pond, Oregon Trail Flood Wall, and Georgia Street Pump Station.
