City of Monroe Presents Rollin’ on the Riverfront Saturday, September 17, 2022

Saturday, September 17, 2022 - 5:00pm

(Monroe, LA) Mark your calendars! Mayor Friday Ellis and the City of Monroe are getting ready to roll on the riverfront of the Ouachita! Join us Saturday, September 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for Rollin’ on the Riverfront.

This event is another opportunity for the community to come together and share their ideas for Downtown Monroe. We will also highlight some of the work behind Phase 2 of the Strategic Plan and reveal the new logos for Downtown Monroe and Monroe Main Street!

Phase 2 kicked off at the end of July and saw Campo Architects working with local business owner and entrepreneur, Katrina Branson to host Community Engagement sessions. The City of Monroe engaged Branson as a “Community Advocate” and liaison between the local community and the downtown strategic planning team. Branson hosted several Community Engagement sessions that brought invaluable feedback from residents about what they hope to see in downtown Monroe.

Rollin’ on the Riverfront will take place at the Monroe River Market. Come out and enjoy delicious food from several area food trucks, including 2Sweets Bakery, Kona Ice, Taylor’d Eatz, Anointed Kreation’s Kitchen, Taste of Love, Cali Café, The Rubber Biscuit, and Taco the Guero.

After you eat all the food, work it off dancing along the riverfront and join our second line as we sway to the sounds of Brass Knuckles from ULM’s Sound of Today Marching Band. At 6:00 p.m., Carolyn’s Dance Land will hit the stage! Don’t miss this talented group of local dancers! We’ve also got interactive games that promise to be a lot of fun!

It all kicks off at 5:00 p.m. at the Monroe River Market located at 316 South Grand Street in Monroe. Make sure to wear your gold and help us continue the conversation to #DevelopDowntown!

Best,
