City of Monroe 2018 New Year’s Focus: City Employee Community Benevolent Projects

Sunday, December 31, 2017 - 8:15am

Note:  For the past several years, on New Year’s Day, Mayor Mayo shares a new focus area that he and city officials will champion during the coming year.

City of Monroe 2018 New Year’s Focus:

City Employee Community Benevolent Projects

Mayor Jamie Mayo announces the City of Monroe 2018 New Year’s focus will be City Employee Community Benevolent Projects. This effort is #12 on Mayor Mayo’s 60 for 60 projects list.

Mayor Jamie Mayo comments, “In addition to working extremely hard to provide city services to our residents, Monroe city employees believe in going the extra mile for community service.  Over the years, our employees have fully embraced a plethora of initiatives aimed at benefiting Monroe neighborhoods, our local youth, senior citizens, the less fortunate, and more! For example, our most recent United Way fundraising campaign was a record-breaking effort by our employees. In 2018, we will participate in even more benevolent projects.  Our goal is to complete at least one such initiative during each month of 2018.  Hopefully, we can inspire other municipalities, businesses, schools, community groups and other organizations to join in or model after our efforts.”

An outlined list of 2018 Benevolent Projects is listed below.  More detailed information will be shared about these projects, each month, as the actual initiative approaches.
