Mayor Jamie Mayo and Fire Chief Terry Williams announce the temporary closure of the Breard Street Fire Station for mold remediation.

Chief Williams states, “We are currently sending a fire inspector along with plumbing and electrical inspectors to all 10 fire stations in the city in order to identify any other problems that need to be addressed. My overall concern is for the health and safety of all firefighters. I expect the remediation process of Station #5 to take 7-10 days.”

During the closure of Station #5, Engine 105 will be housed at fire Station # 2 (1810 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.) Ladder 5 and District 2 will be housed at the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Station (Monroe Regional Airport).
