Award Winners Announced City of Monroe 41st Annual Birthday Salute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The

The City of Monroe hosts its 41st Annual Birthday Salute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from 11:30 am until 1 pm today, in the W.L. “Jack” Howard Theater of the Monroe Civic Center Complex. 

Our theme is “A Recommitment to Nonviolence” and our guest speaker is Dr. Carolyn Hunt, Pastor, Walk in the Word Church (Monroe, LA). Inspirational songs will be lifted by the Wossman High School Choir, under the direction of Mr. Deziray Sullivan. 

For the fourteenth consecutive year, we are making formal presentations to award winners in the categories listed below. Also attached separately is a brief bio about each winner.
