SUMMARY: Officials from the Barak Shrine will host an official kick-off press conference in advance of their 61st Annual Barak Shrine Circus in Monroe, La. There will be six performances between Friday, May 3, and Sunday, May 5.
The circus acts will include acrobats, quick change artists, death defying motorcycle acts, the Chicago Boys, elephants, the Barak Shrine Clowns, and much more! The Barak Shrine Circus began over sixty years ago when they were the Northeast Louisiana Shrine Club. In 1981, Barak Shrine Center was chartered, and a Monroe institution was born. Since then, Barak Shrine Center has been supporting the local community in a variety of ways, including hosting the riders on the Run for the Wall, Easter Seals, Wish I Could and countless other initiatives and programs.
While Barak Shrine supports the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children in Shreveport and Galveston, the money from the circus stays in the Monroe area to support our local community.
