City of Monroe, LA

The City of Monroe’s annual State of the City Address will be held Thursday, February 13,
2020, at the Monroe Civic Center Arena. The public is invited.

Doors will open at 11:15 am. Attendees will be able to view various departmental displays,
network with each other and talk with various city officials. The official speech portion of the
program will begin at 12:15 pm and should end around 1:00 pm.

In addition to discussing various city initiatives, highlights, and challenges Mayor Mayo will
also talk about our 2020 theme “Monroe Smart City.” Monroe Smart is about combining
information, communication and technology to make life better for the people of Monroe.
Mayor Mayo will be highlighting our various current and future Smart City initiatives being
embraced to help provide more efficient services, save taxpayer dollars, and engage residents.
