17th Annual Entergy-City of Monroe Community Service Scholarship
Eligible graduating high school seniors attending Carroll, Wossman, Neville, River Oaks, St.
Frederick, and Ouachita Christian School are encouraged to apply for the 17th Annual Entergy-
City of Monroe Community Service Scholarship. Applications have been delivered to school
officials at each participating school. The application deadline is April 18, 2019.
Mayor Jamie Mayo comments, “Thanks to the ongoing support from Entergy, Community
Outreach of Ouachita, and the local business community, we have been blessed to award up to
twelve $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who will be attending Louisiana
colleges and universities. This corporate and community support allows us to reward deserving
students who have excelled in the classroom and in the field of community service.”
Each participating high school received their scholarship application packets the week of March
11 – 15, 2019. School officials will review applications and select their two scholarship
winners who must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a graduating senior
2. Live within Monroe City limits
3. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
4. Have a minimum 21 ACT score
5. Perform acts of community service
6. Write an essay about the importance of community service
7. Attend a Louisiana College or University
Scholarship Banquet
All the 2019 scholarship winners will be recognized at our annual Entergy-City of Monroe
Scholarship Banquet, to be held 7 pm Thursday, April 25, at the Monroe Convention Center.

Our 17th Annual Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament will be held Friday, May 10, 2019, at
Chennault Park Golf Course, located at 8475 Milhaven Road.
We are raising funds to award up to twelve (12) 2019 scholarship valued at $500 each.
Including our (12) potential 2019 scholarship recipients, up to 197 students will have been
awarded a total of up to $98,500 in scholarship money, year to date (all private dollars).
Tee time for the four-man scramble will be at 1 pm, Friday, May 10. Registration is $100 per
player ($400 per team). Lunch will be served at 11:30 am.
Hole sponsorships are available. Donations are also accepted.
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place, Best Team Name and Dead Last!
