Temporary Road Closure – Sycamore Street
January 16, 2025
Sycamore Street will be closed to southbound traffic on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 1:00PM – 5:00PM while Grindstone Construction is pouring concrete.
Desiard Street Road Closure

The roads will be closed to through traffic on Desiard Street from Walnut Street to North 4th Street as the Bentz Group will be laying asphalt.

Mayor Friday Ellis announces that City of Monroe facilities will be closed on Friday, January 10, due to the current winter weather, road conditions, and freezing temperatures. The City offices will reopen on Monday, January 13.
Engineering Department Relocation

The City of Monroe’s Engineering Department has relocated to 1401 Stubbs Ave and is open for business from Monday through Friday from the hours of 7:30AM – 4:30PM. The Engineering Department consists of the Civil Division, GIS & Mapping, Inspections & Permitting, Planning & Zoning, and Project Management.
