(Monroe, LA) – Mayor Friday Ellis announces all City of Monroe facilities will be closed Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

EPC is potholing the City of Monroe Water Main near the intersection of Washington Street and North 3rd Street.

Mayor Friday Ellis announces that City of Monroe facilities will be closed on Friday, January 10, due to the current winter weather, road conditions, and freezing temperatures. The City offices will reopen on Monday, January 13.

The City of Monroe’s Engineering Department has relocated to 1401 Stubbs Ave and is open for business from Monday through Friday from the hours of 7:30AM – 4:30PM. The Engineering Department consists of the Civil Division, GIS & Mapping, Inspections & Permitting, Planning & Zoning, and Project Management.

Roads will be closed to through traffic westbound on Breard Street from the intersections of North 4th Street @ Breard Street to N 3rd Street @ Bread Street while Atmos Energy is repairing a gas leak.

Roads will be closed to through traffic eastbound on Desiard Street @ Walnut Street and westbound on Jackson Street @ North 2nd Street for a cross-drain repair on St. Johns Street and Desiard.

Please be advised that the north and south bound inside lanes on South 2nd Street @ Beauregard Street will be closed for sewer lining installation.

Please be advised that Winnsboro Road will be closed to through traffic from the intersections of Winnsboro Rd @ South 1st Street to Winnsboro Rd @ Georgia Street while GCU installs a liner to the sewer trunk main.
