The City of Monroe Announces Christmas Tree Lighting Date

Monroe, LA – The City of Monroe is excited to announce that the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, previously postponed due to weather, has been rescheduled for this Friday, December 5 at 5:30 PM. Join us for an evening filled with festive cheer, including complimentary cookies, hot chocolate and activities for all ages.
Holiday celebrations continue throughout the evening with the Holidays on Main Marketplace, open from 5 PM to 9 PM. in the B.D. Robinson Conference Hall. This special night market will feature around 40 local small businesses, from cottage bakeries to artists and more. It’s an ideal opportunity to shop local and support the community.
Also on Friday, the Monroe Moccasins will host ice skating from 5 PM to 9 PM. Each 45-minute skate session will be followed by a 15-minute Zamboni break. Admission is $20 with skate rental or $15 if you bring your own skates. Doors open at 4:30 PM for the first session.
