City of Monroe Fire Department Hosts Push-In Ceremony
December 4, 2025
Monroe, LA – The Monroe Fire Department will host a traditional Push-In Ceremony to officially welcome Rescue 2, a state-of-the-art heavy rescue truck and the only apparatus of its kind in Northeast Louisiana.
Rescue 2 represents a significant investment in the City of Monroe’s safety and emergency preparedness. The new unit enhances firefighters’ capabilities in technical rescue, vehicle extrication and a variety of specialized response situations.
The custom Pierce Enforcer model features blacked-out accents and replaces the City’s previous Rescue 2, a 2015 Ferrara walk-around heavy rescue truck. Equipped with “Jaws of Life” cutting and spreading tools, hazardous materials response equipment and a full range of technical rescue capabilities, the new Rescue 2 responds to all structure fires, vehicle crashes, and high-angle and trench rescue calls citywide.
Purchased in 2022 and custom-built by Pierce Manufacturing, with delivery provided through Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, the new Rescue 2 now serves as Monroe’s sole heavy rescue unit.
The Push-In Ceremony to officially place the apparatus into service will take place Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11 AM at Fire Station #2, located at 1810 Martin Luther King Junior Drive, Monroe, LA 71202.
