City of Monroe Announces Memorial Day Closures and Trash Schedule

(Monroe, LA) – Mayor Friday Ellis announces that City of Monroe facilities will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day. City offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 26.
Trash pickup normally scheduled for Monday, May 25 has been moved to Wednesday, May 27.
City Court will also be closed to the public Monday, May 25, reopening Tuesday, May 26.
Monroe Transit will be closed Monday, May 25 and reopens Tuesday, May 26 for regular service.
Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo and Chennault Golf Course will be open to the public.
