(Monroe, LA) – The City of Monroe is breaking ground on a project on Thomas Avenue and Georgia Street to improve water service, drainage and road conditions.
The work will include installing new water lines, fire hydrants and drainage pipes. Crews will also remove old pipes and fix the streets by repaving roads, repairing curbs and sidewalks and making other needed improvements.
The groundbreaking will take place Monday, May 4, 2026 at 2:30 PM at the intersection of Thomas Avenue and Georgia Street.
