City of Monroe Water System Rescinds Boil Water Advisory

(Monroe, LA) – The City of Monroe announces that the systemwide boil water advisory has been rescinded effective immediately.
Water samples collected by the City of Monroe were submitted to the Louisiana Department of Health Laboratory for analysis. All test results have returned satisfactory, confirming that the City’s water system is safe for drinking, cooking, bathing, and all other normal uses, according to City of Monroe Water System Manager Sean Benton. Residents and businesses may now resume using tap water without boiling.
The City of Monroe appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the advisory period. The safety and quality of the city’s drinking water remains a top priority, and the City will continue to monitor the water system in accordance with state and federal regulations.
