City of Monroe Opens Warming Station

(Monroe, LA) – The City of Monroe will open a public warming station in response to forecasted low temperatures expected this week.
The warming station will be located at the Liller Maddox Marbles Community Center, 2950 Renwick Street, and will open at 3 PM Monday, December 29, 2025, remaining operational while cold weather conditions persist.
The facility will provide cots, Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs) and water. City staff will be on-site to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for anyone seeking relief from the cold
It is important to note that the Warming Station is not equipped to accommodate individuals with special medical needs or pets. Visitors to the facility are required to be ambulatory and able to care for themselves.
