City of Monroe MLK Day Office Closure and Trash Schedule

(Monroe, LA) – Mayor Friday Ellis announces all City of Monroe facilities will be closed Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Offices will reopen Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This includes Monroe Transit and Monroe City Courts.
The Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo will remain open.
The holiday trash schedule will be as follows:
Garbage normally collected on Monday, January 20, 2025, will be collected Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
The City of Monroe invites you to the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday at the 46th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Salute at the Jack Howard Theatre on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, beginning at 10 AM. The event is open to the public.
