CITY OF MONROE
The following Ordinance was introduced by Muhammad , who moved for its adoption, and was seconded by Harvey :
AN ORDINANCE REVOKING A 15’ WIDE BY 130’ LONG ALLEY LOCATED NORTH OF PEACH STREET, SOUTH OF APPLE STREET, WEST OF RAILROAD AVENUE, AND EAST OF JACKSON STREET.
WHEREAS, Cope’s Towing has requested the revocation of a 15’ wide by 130’ long unimproved, vacant alleyway located between Peach Street and Apple Street at 1705 Jackson Street;
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe does not use the alleyway to provide any services, there are no servitudes or other public utility services utilizing the alleyway, and the alleyway is no longer necessary for public use; and
WHEREAS, once revoked, the right-of-way will revert to the adjacent property owner(s); and
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe Planning Commission has recommended that this request be approved, with a 5-0-1 vote (REV 100-26).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the approximately 13’ wide by 150’ long alleyway located between Peach Street and Apple Street at 1715 Jackson Street is no longer necessary for public use and is hereby revoked.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Harvey, McFarland & Muhammad
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Ezernack & Woods
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on April 14, 2026.
