CITY OF MONROE
The following Ordinance was introduced by Harvey , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Muhammad :
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-62 (CHENNAULT GOLF COURSE AND SELMAN FIELD GOLF COURSE) OF THE CITY OF MONROE CODE TO ADJUST THE RATES FOR CHENNAULT GOLF COURSE, REMOVE PROVISIONS RELATING TO SELMAN FIELD, AND PROVIDE FOR RELATED MATTERS.
WHEREAS, Section 25-62 of the City of Monroe Code establishes the rates for Chennault Golf Course and Selman Field Golf Course;
WHEREAS, Selman Field Golf Course is no longer operational, and the rates for Chennault Golf Course have not been adjusted since 2007; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to amend Subsection 25-62(a) to increase the rates for Chennault Golf Course and to repeal Subsection 25-62(b) to remove the rates for Selman Field Golf Course.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Monroe, in legal and regular session convened, that Section 25-62 of the Code of Ordinances of Monroe, Louisiana, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 25-62. Chennault Golf Course
The rate schedule for Chennault Golf Course shall be as follows, inclusive of any applicable taxes:
(1) Rentals

| *Fees are per playing rider. No half cart rentals are permitted.
**Non-playing riders will be charged a rider fee at the 9-hole rate. |

**Tournaments must have a minimum of 72 participants on weekends (Fri-Sun) |

(6) Specials
The Community Affairs Director and Golf Director may run specials at Chennault Golf Course as needed to promote and increase play.
(7) Adjustments
Adjustments to these rates may be made by the Golf Director, with the approval of the Community Affairs Director, to accommodate events, enhance marketing opportunities, meet community demand, or adjust to changing market conditions.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Section 25-62(b) of the Code of Ordinances of Monroe, Louisiana, which establishes the fee schedule at Selman Field Golf Course, is hereby repealed.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the fee schedule for Chennault Golf Course provided in this Ordinance shall become effective May 1, 2026.
This Ordinance was introduced on March 24, 2026.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

ABSENT: Ezernack & Woods
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on April 14, 2026.
