CITY OF MONROE
The following Ordinance was introduced by Woods , who moved for its adoption, and was seconded by Harvey :
AN ORDINANCE REVOKING A 15’ WIDE BY 300’ LONG ALLEY BETWEEN ORANGE STREET AND APPLE STREET AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, Grace Place Ministries has requested the revocation of a 15’ wide by 300’ long unimproved alleyway between Orange Street and Apple Street (bounded by Jackson Street and St. John Drive);
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe does not use the alleyway to provide any services, and there are no servitudes or other public utility services utilizing the alleyway, and the alleyway is no longer necessary for public use;
WHEREAS, once revoked, the right-of-way will revert to the adjacent property owner(s); and
WHEREAS, the City of Monroe Planning Commission has recommended that this request be approved, with a 4-0-1 vote (REV 100-25).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the approximately 15’ wide by 300’ long alleyway between Orange Street and Apple Street (bounded by Jackson Street and St. John Drive) is no longer necessary for public use and is hereby revoked.
This Ordinance was introduced on October 14, 2025.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, McFarland & Muhammad
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on October 28th , 2025.
