CITY OF MONROE
The following Ordinance was introduced by Ezernack , who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Harvey :
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF MONROE AND THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS, AFL-CIO, LOCAL 407.
WHEREAS, the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 407 expires on December 31, 2025;
WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to the terms of a new, two-year collective bargaining agreement (2026-2027), which is attached hereto and made part hereof; and
WHEREAS, as required by La. R.S. 44:67.1, the collective bargaining agreement has been made available to the public on the City’s website for at least five business days and public notice was disseminated informing the public of the date, time, and place of the meeting at which the agreement was considered for ratification.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the collective bargaining agreement, effective January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, by and between the City of Monroe and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 407 is hereby ratified and adopted.
This Ordinance was introduced on August 25, 2026.
Notice published on the 28th day of August , 2026.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Harvey, Ezeranck, Woods, McFarland & Muhammad
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on September 8, 2026.
