Traffic Advisory: Georgia Street Closure Beginning May 27

WHAT: Road Closure to through traffic – Georgia Street

Georgia Street will be closed to through traffic between Lock Drive B and Parker Street beginning Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to allow crews to perform work along the edge of the roadway.
The closure is expected to remain in effect until Thursday morning, May 28, 2026, weather permitting, or until the work is complete.
Barricades and traffic control measures will be placed and maintained to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and travel accordingly.
**We understand that this may create a short-term inconvenience. The City of Monroe thanks you in advance for your patience while work is in process and reminds you to drive with caution while in the work area. Be advised that it is illegal to drive around barricades**.
