WHAT: Georgia Street Pump Station Project – Installation of 42’ Force Main

The City of Monroe announces a temporary road closure crossing Beauregard St. between the intersection of Alabama St. and Mississippi St. to all traffic to facilitate the installation of a 42’ Force Main. The closure will begin on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. and will be closed until further notice. Pulley Construction, Inc. will be installing a force main and will cross over Alabama St. and Mississippi St.  “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” signs will be stationed at the intersection of Beauregard St. advising residents north of the force main crossing to utilize Jackson St., South 2nd St., or Pecan St. as their alternate route to safely access their homes during construction. Traffic traveling south can utilize Winnsboro Rd., Georgia St., or South 4th. St. as their alternate route. Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling near the construction zone and follow all posted traffic signs. Barricades will be placed/maintained to ensure the safety of construction workers, motorist, and pedestrians. Please plan your routes accordingly and expect minor delays during morning and evening commute.

**We understand that this may create a short-term inconvenience. The City of Monroe appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve our local infrastructure. We do ask while work is in progress that you drive with caution while in the work area. Be advised that it is illegal to drive around barricades**.
