City of Monroe Hosts Desiard Street Ribbon Cutting
February 17, 2026
(MONROE, LA) – The City of Monroe will mark the completion of the Desiard Street Improvements Project with a ribbon cutting on Friday, February 20 at 9 AM at 321 Desiard Street (corner of Desiard and N. 4th).
Led by the City of Monroe, funded by the Downtown Economic Development District (DEDD), designed by CSRS, and construction managed by Lazenby & Associates, the project delivers safer sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, improved stormwater management, and a more pedestrian-friendly corridor from the Endom Bridge to the railroad crossing.
These improvements represent a strategic investment in Monroe’s economic growth, public safety, accessibility, and overall vibrancy. It creates a corridor that better serves residents, supports local businesses, and welcomes visitors.
City officials, project partners, and community members are invited to join the celebration of this important step in downtown revitalization.
