Free smoke alarms to all City of Monroe residents

The Monroe Fire Department offers FREE smoke alarms with installation to all City of Monroe residents. If you would like a smoke alarm installed in your home, contact our office at 318-329-2474 or 318-329-2475 to be scheduled for installation.

Civil Service Exams

Fire Department Mechanic

A written examination will be given in approximately ninety (90) days on a competitive basis to approved applicants for the purpose of placing names on the police services competitive employment list for the class of Fire Department Mechanic in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Law and the rules of the Monroe Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board.

Evidence Officer

A written examination will be given in approximately ninety (90) days on a competitive basis to approved applicants for the purpose of placing names on the competitive employment list for the class of Evidence Officer in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Law and the rules of the Monroe Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board.
