Doug Harvey is a lifelong resident of northeast Louisiana who currently serves as the councilman for District 1 in Monroe. He believes in this area and how we can all contribute to it reaching its full potential.
He has served in leadership capacities within many manufacturing organizations in north Louisiana and has been in many managerial position for Drax, a multinational producer of sustainable wood pellets. He believes that manufacturing jobs are a key contributor to the economy of north Louisiana and is an advocate of our community college systems and developing our workforce to take advantage of those opportunities within our region.
Mr. Harvey also believes in everyone’s responsibility to contribute to their communities. He is a graduate of Leadership Ouachita and Leadership Louisiana, and is a recipient of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce’s Top 20 under 40 award. He is a volunteer for many community organizations in our community such as the Friends of Forsythe Park and the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank. He currently serves on the board of the Northeast Louisiana Boys & Girls Club and the Louisiana Delta Foundation.
He is married to wife Jennifer and they share children: Katelyn, Connor, Abby, Brooklyn, and Mac.
