CITY OF MONROE

NO. 12,172

 

The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr.  Harvey who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Marshall:

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MONROE TO ACQUIRE A CERTAIN PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY FROM JEFF AND DEBRA WILMORE, SITUATED IN OUACHITA PARISH WITH A MUNICIPAL ADDRESS OF 102 S. 20th STREET, MONROE, LA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BELOW, AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO 

WHEREAS, the City of Monroe would like to acquire 102 S. 20th Street, Monroe, LA, and referenced as Parcel #55294 with the Ouachita Parish Tax Assessor, currently owned by Jeff and Debra Wilmore for expansion of the Monroe City Cemetery;

WHEREAS, Julie A. Odom, a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser, prepared an appraisal dated May 1, 2023, with the appraised value at $2,500.00. A copy of the summary of the appraisal is attached hereto;

WHEREAS, the City Of Monroe and Jeff and Debra Wilmore have agreed upon a purchase price of Two Thousand Five Hundred and no/100 Dollars ($2,500.00); and

WHEREAS, the funds to purchase this property will come from Public Works Cemetery Fund – Capital Account.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened, that Mayor Friday Ellis be and he is hereby authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Monroe to acquire the following described property for the sum of $2,500.00 to-wit:

Lot 4, Arents Resub Sq. 14, Stubbs Youngs Bayou Addition, Monroe, LA

Tax Assessor’s ID Parcel #55294

ORDINANCE INTRODUCED on the  9th    day of May 2023.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  12th     day of May 2023.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES: Harvey, Woods & Marshall

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: Ezernack & Dawson

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  23rd  day of  May 2023.
