EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

The following Ordinance was offered by Ezernack who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Marshall:
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE REPAIR OF THE ROOF AT THE CITY HALL ANNEX LOCATED AT 3901 JACKSON STREET AN EMERGENCY AND NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND OR REPLACEMENT AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, necessary repairs are immediately needed to the roof of the City Hall Annex building located on 3901 Jackson St., Monroe, LA; and
WHEREAS, these repairs are necessary due to the November 5, 2022 storm which damaged the roof at the City Hall Annex building; and
WHEREAS, the roof repair should be declared an emergency to prevent further damage to the City Hall Annex building; and
WHEREAS, the repairs will consist of removing the existing roof down to metal deck on the damaged area and replacing it and the damaged gutters and any other necessary repairs needed to restore the roof; and
WHEREAS, funds for this repair will come from the Facilities Repairs and Maintenance Account.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the repair of the City Hall Annex Roof located at 3901 Jackson St., be and is hereby declared an emergency and in need of immediate repair and Stacey Rowell, Director of Administration, is hereby authorized to execute any necessary documents related to the repair of the roof/property located at the City Hall Annex at 3901 Jackson Street.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Harvey
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 22nd day of November, 2022.
