            The following Ordinance was offered by Mrs.  Ezernack                  who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Ms.  Woods            :

 

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:

An amendment to the Zoning Map to zone a ±.26 acre tract of land, presently located in Ouachita Parish and more particularly described as follows: 

Lot 6, Square 17 of Cole’s Addition (otherwise known as 800 Sterlington Road)

 

            APPLICANT: (MA 110-19, T.I.L. Holdings LLC)

WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 6-0-1 vote. 800 Sterlington consists of Lots 6-8, Square 17 of Cole’s Addition. Lots 7 and 8 are zoned B-2, Neighborhood Business, and Lot 6, Square 17 of Cole’s Addition is zoned C, Campus District. The applicant would like to construct an automated car wash at this location, but the zoning needs to be consistent and the C, Campus District does not allow for this type of use. The applicant would like to rezone Lot 6 to B-2, Neighborhood Business District. As Lots 7 and 8 are presently zoned B-2, Neighborhood Business District this would be an extension of an existing B-2 Neighborhood Business district. The recommendation is that the property be rezoned as B-2, Neighborhood Business District as it is an appropriate zoning classification for the proposed use.

NOW, THEREFORE:

 

            BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe be amended to zone a ±.26 acre tract of land, more or less as described above, and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-72 (formerly Section 27-30 (2)) of the City of Monroe Code and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to B-2, Neighborhood Business District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.

            This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 24th day of September 2019.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  27th & 30th of September and October 2nd , 2019.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:       None.

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  8th       day of  October           , 2019.
