STATE OF LOUISIANA

 

CITY OF MONROE

            The following Ordinance was offered by Ms.  Woods                      who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Wilson             :

 

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF MONROE, LOUISIANA

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Monroe has held its Public Hearing with respect to the following proposed Zoning Map Amendment, to-wit:

An amendment to the Zoning Map to zone a ±1.5 acre tract of land presently located in Ouachita Parish to I-1, Commercial/Industrial Business Park District. This property presently does not have a zoning classification as it is being annexed into the city and is more particularly described as follows: 

That certain tract of land located in Section 32, Township 18 North - Range 04 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, having a Point of Beginning (P.O.B.)being a Found 1/2-inch (1/2") Iron Rod located at the intersection of the apparent Southerly Line of said Section 32 and the apparent Northerly right-of-way tine of the Kansas City Southern Railway, having coordinates of N: 728,863.01' E: 3,407,812 .45; being more particularly described as follows:

Beginningat the Point of Beginning (P.0.8 .)of the hereindescribed tract: Thence a bearing of N 09°06'31" E, a distance of 214.65' to a Calculated Point and continue along said bearing, a distance of 130.81' to a Found 1/ 2-inch (1/2") Iron Rod; Thence a bearing of S 85°05'33" E, a distance of 368.45' to a Calculated Point at the intersection of the apparent Southerly line of said Section 32; Thence along the apparent Southerly line of said Section 32, a  bearing of S 53°43'18" W, a distance of 523.21' back to the Point of Beginning {P.O.B.), containing 1.457 acres.

 

And otherwise known as 2600 Booth Street, Parcel B

       

      APPLICANT: Kenneth Haynes/Scott Equipment Sales, LLC (MA 106-19)

 

WHEREAS, the City Council has further considered the report of the Monroe Planning Commission recommending approval, on a 4-0-1 vote. The proposed property to be zoned is currently within Ouachita Parish and is being annexed into the City Limits. Kenneth Haynes/Scott Equipment Sates, LLC would like to expand their cargo terminal facility at this location. The portion of the property that the expansion is planned for is in Ouachita Parish and needed to be annexed into the City Limits and zoned accordingly. The proposed zoning request of I-1, Commercial/Industrial Business Park District is the appropriate classification for this use.

 

NOW, THEREFORE:

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana in legal session convened that the Zoning Map of the City of Monroe and the boundaries thereof which map is described in Section 37-34 of the City of Monroe Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and which map shown the Zoning Districts and Boundaries thereof, be and the same are hereby amended to zone the ±1.5 acres previously described to I-1, Commercial/Industrial Park District as shown on the map which is attached hereto and made a part thereof and which is adopted as the new Zoning Map of the City of Monroe.

            This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 11th day of June, 2019.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  14th, 17th & 19th      day of  June                , 2019.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

NAYS:            None.

ABSENT:       None.

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  25th  day of  June       , 2019.
