EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

 

 

STATE OF LOUISIANA

 

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO.  12,046               

 

 

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs.  Ezernack                   who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Ms.  Woods                                   :

 

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE CONDITION LOCATED BESIDE THE BAR SCREEN AT THE HADLEY STREET SEWER PUMP STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

 

            WHEREAS, a large cave-in has been located at the Hadley St. Pump Station beside the bar screen and is in need of emergency repair; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Hadley station services all of North Monroe east of Hwy. 165 and includes the River Oaks area; and

 

            WHEREAS, funds are available through the Sewer Department’s Repairs and Maintenance account.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the cave-in located beside the bar screen at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station is hereby declared an emergency.

 

            BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that such emergency repairs as are necessary to determine the cause and then repair the damages from the cave-in at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station are hereby authorized and approved and the Director of Administration of the City of Monroe is authorized to enter into such contracts as may be necessary to complete the project.

 

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

 

            AYES:            Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson

 

            NAYS:            None.

 

            ABSENT:      None.

 

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  23rd       day of March 2021.
