EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

 

STATE OF LOUISIANA

 

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO. 11,945                

 

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs.  Ezernack                   who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Echols                                    :

 

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE FAILURE OF THE #1 PUMP AT THE ROCHELLE STORM WATER STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

 

            WHEREAS, the #1 pump at the Rochelle Storm Water Station recently failed and is in need of emergency repair; and

 

            WHEREAS, #1 pump at the Rochelle Storm Water Station must stay operational to provide flood control to areas from North 18th St. to North 3rd St and the area from Forsythe Avenue to Hudson Lane which includes the Garden District; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Rochelle storm water station has three pumps and frequently requires all three to run simultaneously; and 

 

            WHEREAS, funds are available through the Pump Station Repairs and Maintenance account.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the failure of the #1 pump at the Rochelle Storm Water Station be and is hereby declared an emergency and in need of repair.

 

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

 

            AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

 

            NAYS:            None.

 

            ABSENT:      None.

 

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  13th     day of August 2019.
