Mayor Friday Ellis announces that City of Monroe facilities will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

The City of Monroe is proud to announce that Downtown Monroe Main Street has once again achieved National Accreditation from Main Street America for the 2025 program year, based on its outstanding performance in 2024.
Temporary Road Closure – Catalpa St and N 4th St Intersection
June 9, 2025
The southbound lane of Catalpa Street and N. 4th Street intersection will be closed to through traffic beginning, Monday, June 9, 2025, until further notice.
Temporary Road Closure – Oak Street
May 22, 2025
Friday, May 23, 2025, Oak Street will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of Catalpa Street and Hall Street from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while Traxler Construction pour new concrete for St. Francis Medical Center.
