Ordinance #12,048

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY AT AND NEAR THE MONROE REGIONAL AIRPORT TO JOHNSON AG FARMS FOR AGRICULTURAL LAND AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

WHEREAS, Johnson Ag Farms and its related entities have farmed land at and near the Monroe Regional Airport for a number of years under a prior existing lease;

WHEREAS, the City of Monroe desires to enter into a new lease agreement with Johnson Ag Farms for land located at and near the Monroe Regional Airport for agricultural purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe that Stacey Rowell, the Director of Administration, is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Lease Agreement between the City of Monroe and Johnson AG Farms.

ORDINANCE INTRODUCED on the  23rd  day of  March, 2021.

NOTICE PUBLISHED on the  29th day of  March and  April 5th & 12th  , 2021.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and published, was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES: Harvey, Ezernack, Woods, Marshall & Dawson

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: None.

And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  27th day of  April 2021.
