NO. 12,152
The following Ordinance was offered by Harvey who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Marshall:
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE SALARY OF THE COUNCIL MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF MONROE AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.
WHEREAS, Section 2-05(A) of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Monroe establishes the salary of the City’s Council Members;
WHEREAS, the salary of the Council Members has not changed since 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the salary of the council members established by Section 2-05(A) of the Home Rule Charter for the City of Monroe is hereby changed to one thousand five dollars ($1,500.00) per month.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall be effective on July 1, 2024, and all other provisions of Section 2-05 remain unchanged.
This ordinance was INTRODUCED on the 28th day of February 2023.
NOTICE PUBLISHED on the 3rd day of March, 2023.
This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced, and published was then submitted to a final vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:
AYES: Harvey, Marshall & Dawson
NAYS: Ezernack & Woods
ABSENT: None.
And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the 14th day of March, 2023.
